Our mobile application requests and uses the FOREGROUND_SERVICE_LOCATION permission to support its core feature: Real-Time Trip Sharing and Route Analysis. This feature allows users to continuously record their journey and upload precise location data to our backend, which generates a live-tracking link so that authorized third parties (such as family, friends, or clients) can view their active route and real-time progress on a map. To ensure user transparency, a persistent system notification is explicitly displayed while this service is running.

Why the task must start immediately: The location-tracking task must start immediately upon user activation because trip sharing is a time-sensitive and critical action. The moment a user starts their journey and shares the link, the recipients expect to see the exact, accurate starting point and real-time movement. Any delay or deferment in initiating the GPS tracking would result in missing the early segment of the trip, leading to broken initial routing data and a broken, untrustworthy experience for the people viewing the shared link.

Why it cannot be paused or restarted: This task requires an uninterrupted, continuous foreground service and cannot be paused or restarted by the system for the following reasons:

  • Critical Data Gaps: If the operating system pauses the service when the app goes into the background, the location stream is cut off. The webpage link viewed by others will show the user as "stuck" or disconnected, failing the core purpose of real-time monitoring and causing unnecessary panic or safety concerns for the viewers.
  • Inaccurate Analytics: A paused or restarted service creates fragmented GPS coordinate gaps. This ruins the backend route analysis, leading to incorrect calculations of total distance, speed, and ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival).

Therefore, to guarantee data continuity, precise analytics, and the safety/reliability of live trip sharing, the task must run seamlessly without being paused or restarted.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do so, we will post a notification on the main page of the Site, revise the updated date at the bottom of this page and send an email to you. We encourage the Users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed on how we protect the Users personal information.
